Words matter.

They are what drive us to action. Define how we work with each other. Provide comfort when things go wrong.

Words are the core of how we communicate as a species. And yet, they’re so ubiquitous we’ve stopped noticing them. They flow endlessly from our mouths - often with little preparation or thought to their impact.

Alchemy With Words was founded on the principle that the quality of your conversation determines the quality of your outcome. That if we could transform our every day communication, we could change ourselves, our workplaces, and the world.

It’s a lofty goal.

But the world deserves nothing less than our best effort as we communicate the things that build influence, create opportunities, and solve problems.

Jana started her journey into Alchemy as a Theatre Management & Production major. Theatre is phenomenal training in fast product development cycles (with little to no money, fixed deadlines, and managing teams of HIGHLY opinionated people), but it’s also an opportunity to see up close how people react to words delivered well.

It fascinated her enough that she got her Masters degree in Organizational Management & Corporate Culture. This gave her the ability to see where in organizations communication was vital to clarity, alignment, and problem solving.

After more than ten years in the Nonprofit sector, and another ten in Marketing, in 2016 she built a company that focuses on developing leaders and teams that communicate with impact.

Grounded in how people listen, make meaning, navigate difference, and influence one another, Alchemy With Words helps organizations turn information into understanding and understanding into action through:

Leadership and influence development that helps leaders build trust, gain buy-in, and move people toward action without relying solely on authority, particularly valuable for emerging and established leaders navigating growth, change, or increasing organizational complexity.

Communication training that strengthens how people listen, influence, navigate conflict, and communicate across differences, designed for teams whose success depends on collaboration rather than simply exchanging information.

Facilitation and strategic conversations that help groups work through complex ideas, surface what isn't being said, and create enough shared understanding to make meaningful decisions together. Particularly useful when organizations are planning, changing direction, solving difficult problems, or bringing people with different perspectives into the same room.

Executive and leadership coaching for people whose ideas, decisions, and communication increasingly shape the work of others. The focus isn't simply on becoming a "better communicator," but on understanding how they are heard, how they influence, and what their communication makes possible for the people around them.

Speaking and keynotes that challenge audiences to notice the communication they normally take for granted and reconsider how listening, conflict, influence, and everyday conversations shape business outcomes.
